The Continuing Education Department at Al-Safwa University, in collaboration with the International Pulse Foundation for Training and Development and under the supervision of the Pharmacy Department, organized a training workshop titled “First Aid.”

The workshop was conducted by Dr. Laith Al-Na’imi, a pharmacist, and covered various important topics related to the role of first aid in saving lives and reducing complications after accidents, medical emergencies, and more. The workshop addressed several key aspects, including:

✓ How to ensure the consciousness of an unconscious person without causing harm to them. ✓ How to open the airway and ensure the continuation of breathing. ✓ How to check for a pulse and ensure the heart is functioning, maintaining it. ✓ How to perform artificial respiration for children, infants, and adults. ✓ How to perform chest compressions and the correct method for chest compression, addressing cases requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation. ✓ How to deal with cases of choking and suffocation in children, infants, and adults of different age groups.
